Louis Widom (BA, Cornell University, 2016) is a 5th-year Biomedical and Chemical Engineering PhD Candidate in the Gaborski NanoBio Materials Laboratory in Rochester Institute of Technology's Biomedical Engineering Department. His research focuses on development of in vitro blood-brain barrier models using porous ultrathin silicon nitride membranes as well as on the contributions of pericytes and extracellular matrix to blood-brain barrier function and stability. Widom previously delivered poster presentations at the 2021 and 2022 BMES Annual Meetings, and looks forward to participating in this year's Annual Meeting.
